Which Windows are best for your Calgary Home?

Awning Windows
Hinged at the top, awning windows open outward from the bottom. Great for ventilation in any weather and are often used in combination with other window types.
Slider Windows
One or both sections of the window slide open sideways - these combine ventilation and provide great views.
Hung Windows
This type of window slides open either from the bottom up for single-hung windows or from both the bottom and the top for double-hung windows.
Fixed Windows
If you are less concerned with ventilation and looking to expand your view, then fixed windows are the perfect choice as they are typically larger, but do not open.
Bay & Bow Windows
These have various sections and extend out of the wall. Bay windows normally have 3 sections, while bow windows have extra sections to create a more circular shape.
Combination and Custom Windows
Often, homeowners opt to combine different types of windows for versatility, comfort and design. For example, fixed windows are often combined with hung windows - the fixed window provides a great view, while the hung windows allow for ventilation.
Casement Windows
Hinged on one side, casement windows fully open on the opposite side of the hinge, either inward or outward. These are great for full ventilation.
